The New York State Trauma Informed Network and Resource Center (NYS TINRC) which is funded by NYS OMH, promotes learning, growing, and the deepening of knowledge. It creates and enhances partnerships, builds and supports communities, and furthers the understanding of trauma, trauma-responsive practices, wellness, and well-being.
Instructor’s Edition: Tending the Roots
The primary purpose of this initiative is to increase trauma informed training capacity statewide by creating a network of available trainers and champions to increase awareness and effective response with respect to Trauma Informed Care (TIC) at the local and community level.
Curriculum Goals
- Ensure a fundamental understanding of trauma, its prevalence, and effects.
- Provide strategies and interventions to build effective and sustainable TIC practices and environments.
- Develop an understanding of the intersection of trauma and oppression.
- Promote strategies to address social determinants of health in order to reduce inequities and disparities at individual and systemic levels
- Encourage organizations to build internal capacity that sustains trauma responsive care and the ability to train their workforce

Location for Days 1 & 2: Castleton-on-Hudson (location details provided on acceptance)
