The New York State Trauma Informed Network and Resource Center (NYS TINRC) which is funded by NYS OMH, promotes learning, growing, and the deepening of knowledge. It creates and enhances partnerships, builds and supports communities, and furthers the understanding of trauma, trauma-responsive practices, wellness, and well-being.

Breath-Body-Mind™ is a set of gentle exercises that are based on science and designed to help with stress. They can improve your mental health and wellness.

ALL of the BBM Practice sessions, trainings, and opportunities are available to all New Yorkers and are free of charge.

The Breath-Body-Mind Fundamentals Course is designed for individuals interested in learning more about BBM practices and ways to integrate them. In the first 12 hours of this course, you will learn simple techniques that use breathing to help your mind and body relax. These techniques have been proven to reduce stress, improve mood, and help you concentrate better. This is followed by participation in 6 weeks of group BBM Practice sessions.

 

Applicants who participate in the BBM Fundamentals Course will be expected to:

  • Attend and participate in the first part of the Fundamentals Course - 12 hours, that will be taught by Dr. Brown, Dr. Gerbarg and several senior BBM teachers, where you will learn simple techniques that use breathing to help your mind and body relax. These techniques have been proven to reduce stress, improve mood, and help you concentrate better.
  • Attend and participate in the second part of the Fundamentals Course - 6 weekly group practice, that will be taught by senior BBM teachers.

*This course fulfills the prerequisite requirement for participation in the BBM Teacher Training Level-1 Course.*
